Janet Jackson Divorced: Her History of Marriage, Explained

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Janet Jackson has been married and divorced multiple times during her legendary career.

There's more than one way to end a marriage.

Not all of Janet's husbands departed through the divorce process.

Here's a look at her complex personal history — and where things stand today.

Janet Jackson was 18 when she eloped with James DeBarge

When Janet Jackson was 16, she began dating 19-year-old singer James DeBarge.

(That is a large age gap and may not be legal in some jurisdictions, but it's probably fine in and of itself)

Two years later, on September 7, 1984, the two eloped.

Janet had confided only in sister LaToya Jackson about her plans.

In 1985, she and James received an annulment. According to Janet, this was due to James' alleged substance abuse.

Her second marriage was a secret until it ended

The following year, in 1986, Janet began dating René Elizondo Jr.

She and the dancer, songwriter, and director married — in secret — in March of 1991.

Despite Janet being part of one of the 1990s' most famous families, they managed to keep their marriage secret until 2000.

In January 1999, they separated. Only the divorce made their marriage public knowledge.

René filed a lawsuit, seeking a a massive multimillion dollar settlement. In October 2003, he and Janet Jackson were officially divorced, and reached a settlement. According to Forbes, it was to the tune of $10 million in spousal support.

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri never married, but it was a long-term and significant relationship

During that contentious divorce process, Janet Jackson dated Jermaine Dupri.

They apparently met backstage at one of her shows.

Jermaine, too, was a music producer, rapper, and songwriter — continuing her pattern of serious relationships within the entertainment industry.

Reports vary on the precise timeline, but they began dating in 2002, and split in either 2008 or as late as 2009.

(2009 was the year when Janet's infamous brother died, but without a clear grasp on the timeline it's hard to say what life events impacted others)

Her marriage to Wissam Al Mana was not a secret, but the wedding was

In October 2006, Janet Jackson had her first introduction to Wissam Al Mana, a Qatari businessman.

However, they did not begin dating until years later — in 2010.

They remained a fairly private couple, becoming engaged and marrying in 2012 without the usual media circus.

That doesn't mean that it was a small or private ceremony.

Wissam spent a reported $20 million on the nuptials, flying in 500 guests to the ceremony in Doha, Qatar.

Today, Janet Jackson is divorced

In January of 2017, five years after their high-end (yet secret) wedding, then 50-year-old Janet Jackson gave birth to the couple's son, Eissa Al Mana.

Unfortunately, the marriage itself soon broke down.

In April — just a few months after they welcomed Eissa — reports shared that Janet and Wissam had separated.

The following month, Janet confirmed that the marriage was over.

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana went through a contentious split, but are now officially divorced.

Demond Wilson Cause of Death: ‘Sanford and Son’ Star Was 79

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We have tragic news to report from the world of television today.

Demond Wilson — the actor who was best known for the role of Lamont on the classic sitcom Sanford and Son — has passed away.

He was 79 years old.

News of Wilson's passing comes courtesy of TMZ, who says that they spoke with his son, Demond Wilson Jr.

The younger Wilson stated that his father died at his home in Palm Springs following a battle with cancer.

"I loved him. He was a great man," Demond Jr. said.

Wilson was cast on Sanford and Son — opposite comedy legend Redd Foxx — after wowing producers with a guest spot on All In the Family.

In the 2011 book Black and Blue: The Redd Foxx Story, Wilson revealed that he didn't think the show would be a hit, but he took the job anyway, hoping that it would serve as a springboard to bigger things.

"After learning about the series format, I was doubtful about my involvement in the project. I thought about it long and hard and decided to take a chance," Wilson said.

"Redd and I thought we could grab some quick cash, plus notoriety, then move on to the next project."

But to the surprise of both leads, Sanford and Son went on to become a massive hit.

Airing Friday nights at 8 pm, the show was soon dominating juggernauts like The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and The Brady Bunch in the ratings.

The show reached the number two overall spot in the 1972-73 ratings race, and it was a top ten hit in each of its last five seasons.

Wilson kept the show running on his own after Foxx exited over a salary dispute during the 1974 season.

But shortly thereafter, Foxx quit for good in order to host his own variety show. Wilson declined the offer to continue starring in the show without his co-lead.

Instead, he accepted a lucrative deal playing a man who returns to the family he abandoned in a CBS sitcom titled Baby … I'm Back. The show lasted just 13 episodes.

Wilson was the last of the surviving main cast members on Sanford and Son.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Schitt’s Creek Cast Pours Heart Out in Tribute of Catherine O’Hara

Reading Time: 3 minutes

As you've likely heard about by now, Catherine O'Hara passed away on Friday at the age of 71.

The beloved actress was best known for roles in Best of Show, Home Alone, The Studio and, to some, most notably, Schitt's Creek.

In the wake of this very sad news, Dan and Eugene Levy have issued statements that pay tribute to O'Hara.

"Words seem inadequate to express the loss I feel today," said Eugene Levy, who appeared in multiple projects with O'Hara. "I had the honor of knowing and working with the great Catherine O'Hara for over fifty years."

Continued the actor:

"From our beginnings on the Second City stage, to SCTV, to the movies we did with Chris Guest, to our six glorious years on Schitt's Creek, I cherished our working relationship, but most of all our friendship. And I will miss her. My heart goes out to Bo, Matthew, Luke, and the entire O'Hara family."

On Schitt's Creek, O'Hara portrayed Moira Rose opposite Eugene Levy, who played her husband, Johnny Rose, and her on-screen kids Dan Levy (David Rose) and Annie Murphy (Alexis Rose).

For his part, Dan echoed his father's sentiment in his own tribute on Instagram.

"What a gift to have gotten to dance in the warm glow of Catherine O'Hara's brilliance for all those years," he opened.

"Having spent over fifty years collaborating with my Dad, Catherine was extended family before she ever played my family," he continued. "It's hard to imagine a world without her in it. I will cherish every funny memory I was fortunate enough to make with her."

Dan Levy also said his "heart goes out to Bo, Matthew, Luke and every member of her big, beautiful family."

Jennifer Robertson, who played Jocelyn Schitt on the sitcom, also told The New York Post:

"I am deeply saddened to hear we have lost Catherine. Being in Catherine O'Hara's orbit was a beautiful, magical gift. She was an absolute star who never understood why people made such a fuss about her. Her passing is a loss for everyone who knew and loved her. My deepest condolences to Bo, her sons and the O'Hara family."

In 2020, Schitt's Creek swept the Emmys and in 2021, all of the cast once again went home winners at the Golden Globes.

The role won O'Hara her second Emmy Award in 2020 after she'd previously won in 1982 for her role on SCTV Network.

Prior to these heartfelt messages, Macaulay Culkin had lovely words for the woman who played his mother in the iconic film Home Alone.

"Mama. I thought we had time," Culkin wrote alongside a photo of himself and O'Hara in the movie (both stars reprised their roles for 1992's Home Alone 2).

"I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you but I had so much more to say," he continued, adding, poignantly:

"I love you. I'll see you later."

Macaulay Culkin Pays Heartbreaking Tribute to Catherine O’Hara: ‘I Thought We …

Reading Time: 3 minutes

As we previously reported, beloved actress Catherine O'Hara has passed away at the age of 71.

While no cause of death has been given, O'Hara's passing seems to have come as a shock to those who knew her best.

Now, countless friends, fans, and colleagues are paying tribute to the screen icon, including Macaulay Culkin, who famously played O'Hara's son, Kevin McCallister, in the 1990 holiday classic Home Alone.

Culkin took to Instagram moments ago to share a short but powerful remembrance of the woman who played his onscreen mother.

"Mama. I thought we had time," Culkin wrote alongside a photo of himself and O'Hara in the film (both stars reprised their roles for 1992's Home Alone 2).

"I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you but I had so much more to say," he continued, adding, poignantly:

"I love you. I'll see you later."

Culkin and O'Hara maintained a close relationship over the years, and she delivered a speech when he received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.

At the time, O'Hara noted with amusement that he was now "older than I was when I played his mother."

Culkin also included a photo from that occasion in his social media tribute.

"Home Alone was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation… the reason families all over the world can't let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin," she said in her speech.

The former co-stars often spoke of one another fondly in the decades since they met on set.

In one of her final interviews, O'Hara humorously recalled the day when she and her husband, Bo Welch, nearly had a real-life Home Alone moment with their two sons.

"We were in New York once; I think it was New York," the Schitt's Creek star told People magazine last year.

"Bo and I got on the subway, we turned around, the doors are closing, and they weren't on… I screamed and people screamed with me," she recalled.

The story has a happy ending, as the doors reopened, and O'Hara was reunited with her boys.

"It makes me sick to think what could have happened," said O'Hara.

O'Hara racked up dozens of credits in classic films over the years, including Beetlejuice and Best In Show. She also won an Emmy for her work on the beloved sitcom Schitt's Creek.

But for fans of a certain generation, O'Hara is likely best remembered as Kevin McCallister's heroic mom.

Our thoughts are with Catherine's loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Taylor Frankie Paul PREGNANT While Filming Upcoming ‘The Bachelorette’ and …

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives poses two big questions ahead of Season 4.

Is Taylor Frankie Paul pregnant?

And is she going to be the first pregnant Bachelorette in franchise history?

This mess is so on-brand for her.

Season 4 of 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' is almost here

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is coming up on March 12.

Then, a week and a half later, The Bachelorette launches its new season on March 22.

Taylor Frankie Paul has a starring role on both.

In real time, we know that production on her season of ABC's long-running reality romance has already wrapped.

But the recent teaser trailer for TSLoMW has fans wondering if her suitors are in for a surprise.

The brief teaser trailer for Season 4 shows a distressed Taylor Frankie Paul crying and expressing anger over the phone while wearing a baggy ensemble.

"I hate all of you because you all knew," she says in distress.

We do not know to whom she is speaking, of course.

However, we see Jessi Ngatikaura as she asks if Taylor is going to be the "first pregnant Bachelorette."

Wait, what?

Jessi Ngatikaura on TSLoMW
On 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' Season 4, Jessi Ngatikaura asks a very pregnant question. (Image Credit: Hulu)

Is she pregnant?

The teaser trailer does its work well — creating questions and not answering them.

It makes it clear that Taylor Frankie Paul is still part of the cast.

(Some fans had wondered if she'd be leaving the show, after all)

But we don't even get a definitive answer about whether she is pregnant — let alone to any follow-up questions.

There's one thing that does seem clear, however.

The discussion of whatever is going on with Taylor is going to be a factor on Season 4.

That could mean that there is a rumor that she is pregnant.

But it could also mean that there is a discussion of her relationship status, or even that she is sick and trying to identify symptoms.

If you can think of a reason for why someone might speculate about a pregnancy, then it's a possibility here.

As for the "first pregnant Bachelorette" line … Jessi knew that she was on camera. No matter the context of the question, she was dramatic by choice.

There is not currently any reason to believe that she's expecting

Taylor is no stranger to drama. She is no stranger to pregnancy.

But while there's no telling with her, she's probably not the first-ever pregnant Bachelorette? That sounds like its own season.

(It also sounds like something that would have leaked)

There are claims (often posted to Meta sites, like Facebook) claiming that Taylor "blew up" production when The Bachelorette learned that she was pregnant in the middle of filming.

But there's no reason to believe that. In fact, there's no evidence to suggest that Taylor is actually pregnant — just that people may have been spreading a rumor that she was.

Luigi Mangione Will Not Face Death Penalty; Judge In Murder Case Tosses Two Federal …

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Luigi Mangione learned today that he will not be fighting for his life when his case goes to trial.

Mangione was arrested late last year for the murder of UnitedHealthCare CEO Bryan Thompson.

He's currently behind bars awaiting trial, and he learned today that he's no longer at risk of receiving the death penalty.

Luigi Mangione is escorted by police as he arrives for a hearing as his lawyers push to have his state murder charges dismissed in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, at Manhattan Criminal Court on September 16, 2025 in New York City.

According to a report from NBC News, U.S. District Judge Margaret M. Garnett dismissed two of the four federal counts against Mangione: murder through the use of a firearm, and a related firearms offense.

The former charge was the only one against Mangione that carried a potential death sentence.

He'll still be tried for two federal stalking counts, which each carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

In rendering her decision, Judge Garnett explained that the murder through the use of a firearm charge did not fit the case, as it had to be used in tandem with a "crime of violence," which the stalking charge against Mangione is not.

In this handout photo released by the Altoona Police Department, Luigi Mangione is seen in a holding cell after being taken into custody on December 9, 2024 in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

She admitted that her decision may come off as a bit arcane, but she insisted that she's following the letter of the law.

"The analysis contained in the balance of this opinion may strike the average person — and indeed many lawyers and judges — as tortured and strange, and the result may seem contrary to our intuitions about the criminal law," Garnett wrote.

"But it represents the Court's committed effort to faithfully apply the dictates of the Supreme Court to the charges in this case," the federal judge continued, adding, "The law must be the Court's only concern."

In comments delivered outside the courtroom, Mangione attorney Karen Agnifilo praised the judge's "incredible decision."

"We're all very relieved," Agnifilo added.

The prosecution previously dropped its terrorism charges against Magione.

Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against him.

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

Janelle Brown: Leaving ‘Sister Wives’ for Good After Season 20?

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Will Janelle Brown be back?

After Season 20, some fans weren't sure if TLC would keep the show going.

Sister Wives will return for Season 21.

But after Janelle's statements about leaving the show, will she be part of it?

We're getting Season 21, but …

In recent months, Janelle Brown has made multiple social media posts about leaving Sister Wives.

Not an announcement. Not a promise or a threat. Just … touching upon the topic.

"Leaving the show… leaving a marriage… starting over at an age where everyone expects you to have it all figured out," she penned in one post, as we reported.

Janele continued at the time: "I kept looking at the pieces and thinking something must be wrong with me."

In another post, she wrote: "After the cameras went away, I realized how much of my identity had been shaped by what people thought they knew and rebuilding after that … honestly it takes time."

This week, Mykelti Brown and her husband, Tony Padron, were guests on the Growing Up in Polygamy podcast.

With so much uncertainty, she was able to confirm that TLC viewers will be getting a Season 21 of her fractured family's show.

"There will be guaranteed one more season for sure," Mykelti dished.

"Beyond more than one," she admitted. "I have no idea."

It is possible that TLC doesn't know, either.

Will Janelle Brown be part of Season 21?

According to Mykelti, who would know, "Janelle will be a part" of Season 21.

However, she stressed that this season has some key differences from seasons past.

"I will say that none of the parents have the same filming schedule that they used to have," Mykelti cautioned.

"For the last 15-16 years, it's been two weeks of filming, two weeks off," she specified.

Mykelti explained: "But this last six months or so, the filming has been very, very miniscule. It's sporadic. So, the filming has been less."

"But Janelle will be part of the new season coming out," Mykelti then emphasized.

How does Janelle feel about that?

Well … that's a tough question for anyone to answer. Even Janelle herself.

"I think Janelle, some days she's like, 'Yes, let's do five more seasons!'" Mykelti characterized.

She continued: "And sometimes she's like, 'I'm done. I just want to focus on my grandbabies.'"

A calm but tearful Janelle Brown.

She's of two minds about staying on the show (and that's okay)

Mykelti continued to characterize how Janelle's feelings on reality TV ebb and flow.

"'I want to focus on Taeda Farms. I want to focus on my life in North Carolina. I want to move on,'" she described.

She reasoned: "So I think she goes back and forth."

That is very reasonable.

As for fans … as much as they love seeing her, they also want for her to be happy. Janelle's fans are likely as conflicted as the woman herself.

Her cause of death is unknown at this time.

In addition to her roles in the Home Alone franchise and the beloved sitcom Schitt's Creek, the Emmy winner racked up dozens of film and television credits over the course of more than 50 years in the industry.

After getting her start on the groundbreaking sketch show Second City Television, O'Hara starred in such acclaimed films as After Hours, Beetlejuice, and Christopher Guest-directed mockumentary comedies like Best In Show and A Mighty Wind.

In 2020, O'Hara won an Emmy for her work on Schitt's Creek.

In her acceptance speech, she thanked the show's creators — father-and-son duo Dan and Eugene Levy — for "the opportunity to play a woman of a certain age, my age, who gets to fully be her ridiculous self."

In her later years, O'Hara remained busy, with roles in the HBO drama The Last of Us and the Apple TV+ comedy The Studio.

She received Emmy nominations for both, as well as a Golden Globe nomination for The Studio.

O'Hara did not attend the 2026 Golden Globes ceremony, but the cause of her absence is unknown.

"Hard to think of an actress who was as consistently funny or made a greater impression on both my childhood and adult life than Catherine O'Hara. Another great one gone. RIP," wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter).

"Devastated. Gutted. Never met her but this feels like a personal loss. As great as any comedic performer of my lifetime. Rest In Peace, Catherine O'Hara," another added.

"Catherine O'Hara was an absolute treasure and I loved all her roles," a third remarked.

The actress is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bo Welch, and their two children.

This is a breaking story, and we will have further updates as new information becomes available.

Our thoughts are with Catherine O'Hara's loved ones as they begin their mourning process.

Kylie Kelce: Spilling Details on Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Wedding Plans?

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Who can keep a secret this big?

On the Today show, Kylie Kelce of course fielded questions about her extended family.

That includes a probing interrogation about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's impending nuptials.

How much did Kylie confirm?

Can she keep a secret?

On Friday Morning, January 30, Kylie Kelce appeared as a guest on the Today show.

Host Savannah Guthrie did not hesitate to grill Kylie about her brother-in-law's upcoming wedding.

Travis and Taylor are engaged.

Rumor has it that they'll marry this summer — possibly in Rhode Island.

Here's what Kylie had to share.

"Do we think there's a wedding this year?" Savannah asked.

A visibly uncomfortable Kylie hesitated before modestly replying: "Oh, I don't know."

Savannah didn't take the hint.

"Do you really not know?" she asked her guest.

"I have no idea," Kylie then claimed. She went on to laugh with obvious discomfort and avoid eye contact.

She is 'Not Gonna Lie' after all

Without accusing Kylie of lying, one can honestly state that nervous laughter and avoiding eye contact are stereotypical signs of a bad liar attempting to avoid telling the truth.

Which is funny, because her podcast happens to be titled Not Gonna Lie. Her host knew that, too.

"You're not going to lie?" Savannah quipped.

"Yes! I'm not going to lie," Kylie fired back.

Generally, going on Today doesn't make someone feel like they're getting the third degree. Of course, wedding secrets aren't usually this big of a deal.

In what may have been an attempt to ease off, Savannah asked Kylie if she is going to "get yourself in trouble."

The implication being that she might say too much and incur the wrath of bride-to-be Taylor Swift.

"Never!" Kylie declared.

"But we are excited to celebrate, though," she admitted.

Our information about the wedding is actually pretty limited

In August of 2025, Travis proposed to Taylor. She said yes.

The (admittedly one-sided) power couple had been dating for two years.

We still do not officially know a lot of details about the wedding plans.

Taylor likes to keep things close to the vest, especially when it comes to her personal life.

Maybe she'll marry Travis this summer in Rhode Island. But she has the resources to marry her man at any place at any time — and she could always surprise us.

Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun Appear to Have Broken Up Already

Reading Time: 3 minutes

When the world learned that Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun were dating, most reacted with utter confusion.

After all, Sydney might be the most sought-after human being on the planet, and while he's very rich, Scooter is also very problematic.

It was an odd pairing from the start — and it looks it may have already come to an end.

Neither Sydney nor Scooter has publicly confirmed that they've called it quits, but all the signs are there:

For starters, they haven't been seen in public together in more than two months.

On top of that, Syd just gave an in-depth interview with Cosmo, and in it, she sounds very much like a single gal:

"Look, I am a boss in my life. I take control. I go after what I want. I am confident, and I am successful, and I don't actually need a man," she told the outlet, adding:

"I've got myself. I've got an incredible group of girlfriends. I've got a team of badass women. That is very intimidating to a lot of guys, so a guy needs to be able to stand in that with me."

From there, Sweeney went on to say that dating is tough for her, as not every potential partner can handle her lifestyle.

She explained that it "takes a very specific person who can handle the world that comes with" her level of fame.

She added that she recently dated a guy who she "really, really liked," but he ended it because he "couldn't handle [her] world."

"It's a hard thing," Syd said, adding that she recently received some advice from her mom:

"The other day, my mom and I were talking about guys, and I was like, 'Well, he's not really my type,'" Sweeney recalled.

"Well, maybe your type's not working out for you, Syd," Mom offered.

"Maybe I need to be open to other experiences and try not to put everything in this exact box of what I think I need," Sydney recalled realizing.

Again, no mention of Scooter, but that's a lot of dating talk for someone who's currently in a relationship.

We don't know if Braun is the guy who couldn't handle Sydney's level of fame and fortune, but that seems unlikely, as he's been highly successful for a very long time.

And as the man who discovered Justin Bieber, it's not like he's unaccustomed to hanging out with pop culture icons.

We may never know what happened with the Scooter fling, but Sydney supporters were never a fan of him — so they're probably quite happy to learn that their girl is back on the market.

Ryan Seacrest Alarms Fans with Gaunt Appearance

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Is he okay?

A recent viral video has fans doing a double take at Ryan Seacrest's gaunt appearance.

Is it Ozempic? A secret cancer battle? The ravages of time?

Take a look at the clip for yourself and decide if he's unwell, if fans should clam up, or maybe both.

Is he okay?

This January, Vanna White announced her marriage to John Donaldson.

On Wheel of Fortune, she shared the news, even poking fun at numerous false reports (like those that we here at THG have debunked in the past) that are now simply premature reports about her tying the knot.

Naturally, the show uploaded the clip of her announcement to Instagram.

There, footage circulated beyond Wheel of Fortune's usual day-to-day audience.

As you can see, Seacrest offered her a congratulatory hug. But his appearance startled many fans.

To be blunt, Seacrest appears gaunt.

His clothing looks almost oversized at certain angles.

Additionally, his neck and cheeks appear extremely thin, almost sunken.

We would argue that he isn't unrecognizable — he is, particularly from the front, still a very famous face.

But Seacrest's dramatically different appearance left fans wondering — and speculating — about what had happened.

Shock and theories came pouring in

People took to social media to share their shock and even to speculate as to the cause.

"That's Ryan Seacrest??? No way. Absolutely no way," one person tweeted.

Another remarked: "Ryan Seacrest looks like an entirely different human."

One tweet reads: "Ryan Seacrest looks like a shell of his former self. What in the name of Ozempic is happening?"

An alternative theory in one tweet mentioned how the late Chadwick Boseman "was relentlessly body shamed while he was battling illness privately and everyone who was talking about him felt like crap when he left this Earth."

We should keep in mind that not everyone believes that Seacrest is either using GLP-1 medications to starve his body of essential nutrients or that he is privately battling cancer.

(Anyone considering doing the former should perhaps stop to consider that something that people might mistake for cancer is probably not the best choice for your health)

In fact, some took to social media to point out that some folks are picturing Seacrest from past projects.

While obviously many of us have never watched American Idol, that is when he became a household name for many.

It was also over 20 years ago. Seacrest is now a 51-year-old man. Obviously he's not going to look like he once did.

Even if he's deathly ill, is that really our business?

We should point out that Seacrest's worrisome new look is not new.

In 2025, fans fretted over his "frail" appearance.

The reason that he's once again getting attention is that some people simply haven't seen him in years — and certainly not since he appeared to be withering in this manner.

We of course hope that there's nothing wrong with his health, be it cancer or medicalized starvation or something else.

But we should emphasize that simply being a public figure doesn't mean that someone has to explain why they look different. That's his business, folks.

Kyle Richards Responds to Mauricio Umansky Reconciliation Rumors

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Kyle Richards would like to set the record straight.

Way back in July 2023, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star split from Mauricio Umansky, her husband of 27 years.

The estranged spouses had been "separated" for awhile even at that point, according to People Magazine.

Fast forward all the way to last February and Richards tried to explain where her marriage went wrong.

"Every situation, every marriage is different. For us, it had nothing to do with the show. We did the show together for many years, and we were fine through it … I was very happily married. The show did not affect us in that way at all," Richards emphasized back then.

She emphasized that Umansky was "a great husband" and "a great dad" and admitted that her being "busy and traveling" did not help the situation.

Two appear to have remained quite amicable since they went their separate ways.

Just how amicable, however? To the point where they might get back together?

There have been rumors of late that Kyle and Mauricio "were canoodling" in Aspen on New Year's Eve, sparkling these kinds of reconciliation rumors.

On the January 29 episode of Andy Cohen's talk show Watch What Happens Live, the host asked his guest to respond to such speculation.

"It honestly was…someone just made that story up," Richards simply said about the alleged Aspen sighting.

The 57-year-old also provided an update on whether or not she and her ex have plans to finally file for divorce after her costar Dorit Kemsley speculated on the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that Kyle was holding off in the hopes that they might be a couple again someday.

"We have had conversations that we had not had during this season since then," Kyle told Andy. "We still haven't filed, but we've had conversations since then about what it's going to look like and all of that."

It can be a long and complex process, that's for sure.

From what we've read, Umansky at one point had a girlfriend.

Richards also dated someone, but the relationship didn't last.

"Since separating from Mau, I was in a relationship I was in a very vulnerable place in my life and I fell hard for this person," she said on the December 11 episode of RHOBH, adding that she had been willing to share the romance with the world, but the individual she was seeing wasn't.

"All the speculation and the gossip and the talking is what ultimately ended it."
