How to take on Moltres in Pokémon Go

Beginning Saturday, February 20, 2021, Moltres will return to Legendary Raids in Pokémon Go for just nine days. It will be joined by Articuno, Zapdos, and Mewtwo for the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto and the 25th anniversary of Pokémon. With new Mega Evolutions and Shadow Pokémon, this Raid will be a little different than the last time we encountered the Flame Pokémon. Fortunately, we here at iMore know everything you need to know to take on this Raid! And be sure to check out our best Pokémon Go accessories, so you can be fully equipped on your Pokémon Journey!

Who is Moltres in Pokémon Go?

One of the Legendary birds from the Gen I Kanto Region, Moltres is the second Legendary Pokémon in the National Pokédex, as well as the mascot for Team Valor. Along with Articuno and Zapdos, these three bird are elemental forces of nature that can only be tamed by Lugia. Moltres is also one of the only Pokémon with a regional variant; however, it's Kantonian version is the one we'll be facing for now. Moltres is an excellent Fire type, but an even better Flying type, and its Shadow forme is one of the best in the game. So, even if you have a whole team of Moltres, you won't want to miss this chance for more Moltres Candy and XL Candy to fully power them up.

What are the best counters for Moltres in Pokémon Go?

A Fire and Flying type, Moltres is capable of dealing Fire, Rock, and Flying type damage. It takes double damage from Electric and Water type attacks, and quad damage from Rock type attacks. Rock type damage is generally what you'll want to focus on for this Raid, but if you're able to coordinate with your fellow Trainers, either Mega Ampharos or Mega Blastoise provide paths to reliable Electric or Water based Raid parties.

Rampardos

A fossil Pokémon originally encountered in the Sinnoh region, Rampardos is the top non-Shadow counter for Moltres. It's first stage, Cranidos are pretty common and it only costs 50 Candy to evolve, so most players have at least one to bring to this Raid. As a Rock type, Rampardos takes half damage from Moltres' Fire and Flying type attacks while having no weaknesses the firebird can exploit. the moveset you'll want your Rampardos to know is Smack Down and Rock Slide.

Rhyperior

The final evolution of Gen I's Rhyhorn, Rhyperior is a fantastic counter for Moltres. As a Ground and Rock type, it takes half damage from all of the the firebird's attacks and having been featured in multiple events and a Community Day, most players have at least one or two powered up already. Smack Down and Rock Wrecker are the ideal moves for this Raid, but if you don't have the Community Day exclusive move or an Elite TM to spare, Stone Edge works well too.

Terrakion

One of the Legendary Swords of Justice, Terrakion is a a great choice to counter Moltres. As a Rock and Fighting type, it takes half damage from all of Moltres' attacks except Wing Attack and, even though it is a Legendary Pokémon, it's been featured multiple times in multiple ways, so many players already have at least one powered up. If you're bringing Terrakion to this Raid, you'll want it to know Smack Down and Rock Slide.

Tyranitar

The pseudo-Legendary from Johto, Tyranitar is an excellent choice for this Raid. It's readily available, having been featured in Raids, events, a Community Day, and as a Shadow Pokémon, and as one of the top attackers in the game, most players have a few powered up already. As a Rock and Dark type, Tyranitar takes half damage from Fire and Flying type attacks as well. Smack Down and Stone Edge are the moves you'll want your Tyranitar to know for this fight.

Gigalith

A relative newcomer to Pokémon Go, Gigalith is a Rock type originally encountered in the Unova region of Gen V. Its first stage, Roggenrola was boosted during Unova Week and it benefits from Trade Evolution, so many players have one already. Gigalith takes reduced damage from Fire and Flying type attacks, and normal damage from Wing Attack. Smack Down and Rock Slide are the ideal moveset.

Aerodactyl

Aerodactyl is a fossil Pokémon originally discovered in the Gen I Kanto region. Having been in the game since the start and featured in a number of events, most players have plenty of this prehistoric Rock and Flying type. Aerodactyl takes half damage from Flying and Fire type attacks, but double damage from Rock type attacks. If you're bringing Aerodactyl to this Raid, you'll want it to know Rock Throw and Rock Slide.

Mega Ampharos

While Rock types will generally outperform Electric types in this Raid, the introduction of Mega Ampharos provides a solid path for Electric based counters. As a Dragon and Electric type, Mega Ampharos takes reduced damage from Fire and Flying type attacks and has no weaknesses that Moltres can exploit. If you are bringing Mega Ampharos to this Raid, the moveset you're looking for is Volt Switch and Power Gem - neither of which are moves you would normally want for your Ampharos. However, if you happen to have a Mega Ampharos with Charge Beam or Zap Cannon, it won't perform quite as well but can still provide a great lead for Electric based Raid parties.

Landorus

As one of the Legendary Forces of Nature from the Unova region, Landorus seems like an odd pick for this Raid. He's a Ground and Flying type and so brings no weaknesses or resistances of note against Moltres. However, he has access to the Rock type attacks Rock Throw and Rock Slide. He's only been available in Raids once and that was during a global pandemic, but he's also been available as a Pokémon Go Battle League reward encounter, so you might already have one or two ready for this fight.

Omastar

Another fossil Pokémon originally found in the Kanto region, Omastar has also been featured in a number of events, as well as Raids and as a Shadow Pokémon. As a Rock and Water type, it takes half damage from Wing Attack and only a quarter of the damage from Moltres' Fire type attacks. You'll want your Omastar to know Rock Throw and Rock Slide for this Raid.

Golem

Although the Alolan variant of Golem outperforms its Kantonian counterpart by a touch, either Golem makes for a great counter to Moltres and both have been readily available. The Kanto Golem takes half damage from all of Moltres' attacks, while the Alolan takes half damage from Fire, quarter damage from Flying, and normal damage from Rock. Regardless which Golem you bring, you'll want it to know Rock Throw and Stone Edge.

Back ups?

Although most players will be able to make a team of the best counters, if you're finding a gap in your team, there are plenty of back ups who work well in larger groups. Just make sure you're dodging and any of the following could be a decent back up:

  • Mega Blastoise with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
  • Archeops with Wing Attack and Ancient Power
  • Regirock with Rock Throw and Stone Edge
  • Solrock with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Lunatone with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Aggron with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Zekrom with Charge Beam and Wild Charge
  • Carracosta with Rock Throw and Ancient Power
  • Crustle with Smack Down and Rock Slide
  • Kyogre with Waterfall and Surf
  • Sudowoodo with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Swampert with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
  • Raikou with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge
  • Zapdos with Thunder Shock and Ancient Power
  • Moltres with Wing Attack and Ancient Power

Shadow Pokémon?

The rebalance of Shadow Pokémon rescued from Team GO Rocket make them excellent glass cannons. Not only are their stats boosted, but during special events or with Elite TMs, it's possible to change their moves. If you happen to have any of the following Pokémon with the right moveset, they will work very well in this Raid:

  • Shadow Tyranitar with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Shadow Omastar with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Shadow Aerodactyl with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Shadow Aggron with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Shadow Swampert with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
  • Shadow Raikou with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge
  • Shadow Zapdos with Thunder Shock and Ancient Power
  • Shadow Moltres with Wing Attack and Ancient Power

Note: Shadow Tyranitar outperforms all of the best counters. Likewise, Shadow Omastar and Shadow Aerodactyl perform at the same level as the Pokémon in the best counters list. If you can safely coordinate the use of Mega Ampharos or Mega Blastoise, it will boost Electric and Water types respectively, making them perform even better.

How many players does it take to beat Moltres in Pokémon Go?

Although it is technically possible for two high level Trainers to take on Moltres under the best conditions, you may need three or more if you're lower level or missing the top counters.

Weather Conditions that could play into this battle include:

  • Sunny/Clear Weather will boost Moltres' Fire type attacks.
  • Wind will boost Moltres' Wing Attack.
  • Partly Cloudy Weather will boost Moltres' Ancient Power, as well as your Rock type counters.
  • Rain will boost your Water and Electric type counters.

Apple launches iCloud Passwords extension for Chrome on Windows

Apple iCloud in Google Chrome in Microsoft Windows.

What you need to know

  • Apple has released its iCloud Passwords Chrome extension for Windows.

As reported by 9to5Google, Apple has made its iCloud Passwords Chrome extension for Windows available for download. The release comes only a few days after it was originally reported.

The company published the extension to the Chrome Web Store on Sunday night. The extension allows you to access and use passwords saved to your iCloud Keychain in the Chrome Browser on a Windows computer.

iCloud Passwords allows you to use the same strong Safari passwords you create on your Apple device, with Chrome on Windows.

iCloud Passwords is a Chrome extension for Windows users that allows you to use the same strong Safari passwords you create on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac when visiting websites in Chrome on your Windows PC. iCloud Passwords also saves any new passwords you create in Chrome to your iCloud Keychain so that it is also available on your Apple devices.

As the description explains, the extension will also save any passwords you create in Chrome to your iCloud Keychain so you can use them on your Apple devices easily as well. The report also points out that the extension will also access passwords that you have automatically generated or saved in Safari on your Apple devices.

9to5Google notes that this is the latest in a small offering of products and services from Apple for Microsoft's platforms. The company currently only offers iTunes, iCloud sync, iCloud bookmarks, and Apple TV+ (only on Xbox).

Besides iTunes, Apple's biggest offering on Microsoft's operating system is the iCloud sync client for files, photos, and mail ... This iCloud Passwords Chrome tool joins Apple's only other extension for older Windows (7 + 8) PCs: iCloud Bookmarks. Meanwhile, Apple also offers Apple TV+ for the Xbox.

However, more services could be coming to Microsoft's platforms. A report from earlier in January hinted that both Apple Music and Apple Podcasts could be coming to Windows or Xbox (or both).

You can download the iCloud Passwords extension from the Chrome Web Store on Windows now.

How to take on Zapdos in Pokémon Go

Beginning Saturday, February 20, 2021, Zapdos will return to Legendary Raids in Pokémon Go for just nine days. It will be joined by Articuno, Moltres, and Mewtwo for the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto and the 25th anniversary of Pokémon. With new Mega Evolutions and Shadow Pokémon, this Raid will be a little different than the last time we encountered the Electric Pokémon. Fortunately, we here at iMore know everything you need to know to take on this Raid! And be sure to check out our best Pokémon Go accessories, so you can be fully equipped on your Pokémon Journey!

Who is Zapdos in Pokémon Go?

One of the Legendary birds from the Gen I Kanto Region, Zapdos is the second Legendary Pokémon in the National Pokédex, as well as the mascot for Team Instinct. Along with Articuno and Moltres, these three bird are elemental forces of nature that can only be tamed by Lugia. Zapdos is also one of the only Pokémon with a regional variant. We'll be encountering the original Zapdos in Pokémon Go for now. Not only is Zapdos one of the best Electric type Pokémon in Pokémon Go, but it also has a Shadow forme, so you'll want to make the most of this limited chance at more Zapdos Candy and XL Candy.

What are the best counters for Zapdos in Pokémon Go?

Zapdos is capable of dealing Electric, Rock, and Flying type damage. As an Electric and Flying type, it takes double damage from Rock and Ice type attacks. While either Rock or Ice work well here, if you can coordinate the use of Ice types, along with Mega Abomasnow, you'll all benefit from the boosted damage.

Rhyperior

Beat only by Shadow Tyranitar, Rhyperior is the top non-Shadow counter for Zapdos. Rhyperior is final evolution of the Gen I Pokémon, Rhyhorn and the star of a Community Day, so most players have at least one already powered up. It takes quarter damage from Zapdos' Electric type attacks and half damage from its Rock and Flying attacks thanks to its Ground and Rock typing. If you're bringing Rhyperior to this Raid, you'll want it to know Smack Down and Rock Wrecker; however, if you don't have the Community Day exclusive move or the Elite TM to spare, Stone Edge also works well.

Mega Abomasnow

While Ryhperior performs best out of the non-Shadow counters in a vacuum, Mega Abomasnow is a close second and, thanks to the boost it gives to other Ice types, it can finish this battle faster with the right allies. Even if you cannot coordinate with your fellow Trainers, Mega Abomasnow is a fantastic choice for going up against Zapdos. As a Grass and Ice type, it takes half damage from Zapdos' Electric type moves, but double from both Flying and Rock. If you are bringing Mega Abomasnow to this fight, you'll want Powder Snow and Weather Ball for its moveset.

Mamoswine

Mamoswine is the final evolution of Swinub. It requires a lot of candy and a Sinnoh Stone to full evolve, but having been featured in events and a Community Day, many Trainers have a few already powered up. As a Ground and Ice type, Mamoswine takes quarter damage from Zapdos' Electric type attacks. You'll want your Mamoswine to know Powder Snow and Avalanche for this Raid.

Rampardos

Rampardos is a Rock type fossil Pokémon from the Gen IV Sinnoh region. It takes half damage from Zapdos' Drill Peck, and has no relevant weaknesses Zapdos can exploit. Having been featured in events and eggs, and only requiring 50 Candy to evolve, many players have a couple already powered up. If you're bringing Rampardos to this Raid, the moveset you're looking for is Smack Down and Rock Slide.

Terrakion

One of the Legendary Swords of Justice, Terrakion is a Rock and Fighting type that works very well in this Raid. It takes half damage from Ancient Power and has no weaknesses Zapdos can exploit. Although Terrakion is a Legendary Pokémon, it has been available multiple times so many Trainers have at least one. If you're bringing it to this Raid, you'll want Smack Down for the fast move and Rock Slide for the charged move.

Galarian Darmanitan

The Galarian variant of Gen V's Darmanitan, Galarian Darmanitan is one of the best Ice types in Pokémon Go. It takes double damage from Ancient Power, but otherwise holds up very well against Zapdos. Although neither version of Darumaka has been in the game for long, they're relatively easy to come by, so many players already have both versions. If you're bringing a Galarian Darmanitan to this Raid, you'll want Ice Fang and Avalanche for the moveset.

Tyranitar

The pseudo-Legendary Rock and Dark type of Gen II, Tyranitar remains one of the most accessible and useful Pokémon in Go. It's been featured in Raids, events, a Community Day and even as a Shadow Pokémon, so most high level players have an entire team of Tyranitar. It resists Drill Peck and takes normal damage from Zapdos' Electric and Rock type moves. Smack Down and Stone Edge are the moves you'll want.

Glaceon

The Ice type Eeveelution originally encountered in the Sinnoh Region, Glaceon is extremely easy to acquire and power up. Although you need to spin a stop with a Glacial lure Mod to evolve Glaceon, you can evolve as many as you want while the mod is active and most players have a ton of extra Eevee Candy for powering up. You'll want to watch out for Ancient Power which will make quick work of Glaceon, but against Electric or Flying type moves, it performs admirably. Frost Breath and Avalanche is the moveset you want.

Weavile

The final evolution of Sneasal, Weavile is an Ice and Dark type Pokémon originally encountered in the Sinnoh region. Although it requires a Sinnoh Stone to evolve, because Sneasal are common and have been featured in multiple events, many players not only have Weavile but plenty of Candy to power them up. As with other Ice types, you'll want to avoid using Weavile if Zapdos knows Ancient Power, but otherwise, with Ice Shard and Avalanche, it will perform well in this Raid.

Landorus

A Legendary Pokémon originally encountered in the Unova region of Gen V, Landorus performs great in this Raid. As a Ground and Flying type, it takes reduced damage from Electric attacks and has no weaknesses Zapdos can exploit. Although Landorus has only had a single run in Raids during a global pandemic, it was also featured as a Pokémon Go Battle League reward encounter, so there's a good chance you have at least one powered up already. If you are bringing Landorus to this Raid, you'll want Rock Throw for the fast attack and Rock Slide for the charged.

Back ups?

Although most players will be able to make a team of the best counters, if you're finding a gap in your team, there are plenty of back ups who work well in larger groups. Just make sure you're dodging and any of the following could be a decent back up:

  • Mewtwo with Psycho Cut and Ice Beam
  • Golem with Rock Throw and Stone Edge
  • Gigalith with Smack Down and Rock Slide
  • Mega Gengar with Lick and Shadow Ball
  • Alolan Golem with Rock Throw and Stone Edge
  • Mega Ampharos with Volt Switch and Power Gem
  • Regigigas with Hidden Power and Giga Impact
  • Piloswine with Ice Shard and Avalanche
  • Abomasnow with Powder Snow and Weather Ball
  • Porygon-Z with Lock-On and Blizzard
  • Aerodactyl with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Aggron with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Omastar with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Electivire with Thunder Shock and Ice Punch
  • Articuno with Frost Breath and Ice Beam

Shadow Pokémon?

The rebalance of Shadow Pokémon rescued from Team GO Rocket make them excellent glass cannons. Not only are their stats boosted, but during special events or with Elite TMs, it's possible to change their moves. If you happen to have any of the following Pokémon with the right moveset, they will work very well in this Raid:

  • Shadow Mamoswine with Powder Snow and Avalanche
  • Shadow Tyranitar with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Shadow Mewtwo with Psycho Cut and Ice Beam
  • Shadow Weavile with Ice Shard and Avalanche
  • Shadow Piloswine with Ice Shard and Avalanche
  • Shadow Abomasnow with Powder Snow and Weather Ball
  • Shadow Porygon-Z with Lock-On and Blizzard
  • Shadow Aerodactyl with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Shadow Aggron with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Shadow Omastar with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Shadow Electivire with Thunder Shock and Ice Punch
  • Shadow Articuno with Frost Breath and Ice Beam

Note: Shadow Mamoswine and Shadow Tyranitar outperforms all of the best counters. Likewise, Shadow Mewtwo, Shadow Weavile, Shadow Piloswine, and Shadow Abomasnow all perform at the same level as the Pokémon in the best counters list. If you can safely coordinate with your fellow Trainers, Mega Abomasnow will boost Ice types, making them perform even better.

How many players does it take to beat Zapdos in Pokémon Go?

Although it is technically possible for three high level Trainers to take on Zapdos under the best conditions, you may need four or five if you're lower level or missing the top counters.

Weather Conditions that could play into this battle include:

  • Rain will boost Zapdos' Electric type attacks.
  • Partially Cloudy weather will boost Zapdos' Ancient Power, as well as your Rock type counters.
  • Windy weather will boost Zapdos' Drill Peck
  • Snow will boost your Ice type counters.

Questions about Zapdos in Pokémon Go?

Do you have any questions about taking on Zapdos? Any tips for fellow trainers? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to check out our Complete Pokédex, as well as our many other Pokémon Go Guides so you too can become a Pokémon Master!

How to take on Articuno in Pokémon Go

Beginning Saturday, February 20, 2021, Articuno will return to Legendary Raids in Pokémon Go for just nine days. It will be joined by Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo for the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto and the 25th anniversary of Pokémon. With new Mega Evolutions and Shadow Pokémon, this Raid will be a little different than the last time we encountered the Freeze Pokémon. Fortunately, we here at iMore know everything you need to know to take on this Raid! And be sure to check out our best Pokémon Go accessories, so you can be fully equipped on your Pokémon Journey!

Who is Articuno in Pokémon Go?

One of three Legendary birds from the Kanto region of Gen I, Articuno is the first Legendary Pokémon in the National Pokédex, as well as the mascot for Team Mystic. Along with Zapdos and Moltres, these three forces of nature are ruled by Lugia, the only Pokémon capable of keeping them in balance. Articuno is also the first Legendary Pokémon to have a regional variant, with its Galarian form being a Psychic and Flying type; however, only its Kanto version is available in Pokémon Go for now. Articuno also has a Shadow forme which happens to be one of the best Ice type Pokémon in the game, so even if you have plenty of Articuno already, you'll want to catch plenty more for the Candy and XL Candy necessary to power up your Shadow Articuno.

What are the best counters for Articuno in Pokémon Go?

An Ice and Flying type, Articuno takes double damage from Steel, Fire, and Electric type attacks, and quad damage from Rock type attacks. It is capable of dealing Ice, Rock, and specifically during the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event, Flying type damage. Most of the best counters will be Rock types, but with the introduction of Mega Evolution, Trainers who are able to coordinate using either Mega Evolved Charizard with Fire type teams or Mega Ampharos with Electric type teams can take advantage of the boosted damage.

Rampardos

The best counter for Articuno is the Rock type fossil Pokémon, Rampardos. First discovered in the Sinnoh region of Gen IV, Rampardos brings no notable weaknesses to this Raid and, specifically on the day of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event, it will resist Hurricane. As one of the strongest Rock type attackers in Pokémon Go, it can do quad damage to Articuno with Smack Down and Rock Slide. Even better, its first stage Cranidos is quite common, having been featured in events and Eggs, and it only requires 50 Candy to fully evolve, so most players have at least one or two of this prehistoric Pokémon powered up.

Rhyperior

The final evolution of Gen I's Rhyhorn, Rhyperior is a Ground and Rock type that most players already have in their roster. Rhyperior requires a lot of Candy and a Sinnoh Stone to evolve, but was also featured in a Community Day on top of evolving from a common Pokémon that has been available since day one. Although Rhyperior takes double damage from Ice type attacks, it takes half damage from Rock type attacks. Over all, it's a tank and with Smack Down and Rock Wrecker, Rhyperior can deal quad damage to Articuno. If you don't have the Community Day exclusive move or an Elite TM to spare, Stone Edge can also work.

Terrakion

One of the Legendary Swords of Justice, Terrakion is a Rock and Fighting type. It resists Rock type damage and takes normal damage from Ice type attacks. Although a Legendary Pokémon, Terrakion has been available in a couple of ways, so many players already have at least one powered up. If you're bringing Terrakion to this Raid, you'll want it to know Smack Down and Rock Slide.

Tyranitar

The Dark and Rock type pseudo-Legendary Tyranitar is always a solid pick when you need Rock type damage. It brings no resistances or weaknesses of note to this fight, but having been readily available through events, a Community Day, and even Raids, most players have a few in their rosters. If you're bringing Tyranitar to this Rair, you'll want Smack Down and Stone Edge for its moveset.

Gigalith

Fairly new to Pokémon Go, Gigalith is a Rock type Pokémon first discovered in the Gen V Unova region. Although it requires a ton of Candy to evolve, between Trade Evolution and Roggenrola being featured in the Ultra Unlock Unova Week, you might already have one or two already powered up. If you're bringing Gigalith to this Raid, you'll want Smack Down for the fast attack and Rock Slide for the charged attack.

Omastar

A fossil Pokémon first discovered in the Gen I Kanto region, there's no good reason not to have at least a few strong Omastar in your roster. It's been available since the beginning of Pokémon Go, been featured in events and Raids, and even as a Shadow Pokémon. Plus, it only requires 50 Candies to evolve. Taking half damage from Ice type attacks also means your Omastar will last a long while in this Raid. If you're bringing Omastar, you'll want it to know Rock Throw and Rock Slide.

Darmanitan

A Fire type Pokémon first discovered in the Gen V Unova region, Darmanitan is a particularly interesting Pokémon that has multiple formes and regional variants. The standard Unovan Darmanitan is the one you'll want for this fight with the moves Fire Fang and Rock Slide. It will take double damage if the Articuno you're fighting has Ancient Power, but it takes half damage from the rest of Articuno's moves.

Mega Charizard Y

One of two Mega Evolutions of the Gen I Fire type Starter, Mega Charizard Y is the better of Charizard's Mega Evolutions to bring to this Raid, but either make a great lead for Fire based Raid parties. While this Fire and Flying type takes quad damage from Articuno's Rock type attack, that doesn't slow Mega Charizard Y down. If you're bringing Mega Charizard Y to this Raid, you'll want to coordinate with the rest of the Raiding party to take advantage of the Fire type boost. Fire Spin and Blast Burn are the moves you'll want it to know.

Mega Ampharos

While Mega Charizard Y is the better option, if you're lacking Mega Charizard Energy or already have Ampharos ready, Mega Ampharos performs well in this Raid. As an Electric and Dragon type, it resists Flying and has no weaknesses Articuno can exploit.

Golem

Although the Alolan variant of Gen I's Golem slightly outperforms its Kantonian counterpart, either Golem will work very well in this Raid. Both have been abundantly available and benefit from Trade Evolution, so most players will have one or both already powered up. Alolan Golem is a Rock and Electric type, with not weaknesses or resistances of note; while the Kantonian Golem is a Rock and Ground type, that takes half damage from Rock and double damage from Ice. Rock Throw and Stone Edge are the moves of choice for either Golem.

Back ups?

Although there are a lot of readily available Pokémon in the top counters for this Raid, if you're looking to build a back up team or even just fill in a spot or two on your main team, consider the following good counters:

  • Excadrill with Metal Claw and Rock Slide
  • Reshiram with Fire Fang and Stone Edge
  • Aerodactyl with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Aggron with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
  • Heatran with Fire Spin and Stone Edge
  • Landorus with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Machamp with Bullet Punch and Rock Slide
  • Electivire with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge
  • Entei with Fire Fang and Overheat
  • Moltres with Fire Spin and Overheat
  • Raikou with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge
  • Armaldo with Fury Cutter and Rock Blast
  • Magnezone with Spark and Wild Charge

Shadow Pokémon?

The rebalance of Shadow Pokémon rescued from Team GO Rocket make them excellent glass cannons. Not only are their stats boosted, but during special events, it's possible to change their moves. If you happen to have any of the following Pokémon with the right moveset, they will work very well in this Raid:

  • Shadow Tyranitar with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Shadow Omastar with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Shadow Aggron with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Shadow Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
  • Shadow Aerodactyl with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
  • Shadow Machamp with Bullet Punch and Rock Slide
  • Shadow Electivire with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge
  • Shadow Entei with Fire Fang and Overheat
  • Shadow Moltres with Fire Spin and Overheat
  • Shadow Raikou with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge
  • Shadow Armaldo with Fury Cutter and Rock Blast
  • Shadow Magnezone with Spark and Wild Charge

Note: Shadow Tyranitar outperforms all of the best counters except Rampardos. Likewise, Shadow Omastar, Shadow Aggron, Shadow Metagross, and Shadow Aerodactyl all perform at the same level as the Pokémon in the best counters list. If you are able to safely coordinate the use of either Mega Charizard or Mega Ampharos, they will boost Fire or Electric types respectively, making them perform much better.

How many players does it take to beat Articuno in Pokémon Go?

Although it is technically possible for two high level Trainers to take on Articuno under the best of circumstances, you may need four or five if you're lower level or missing the top counters.

Weather Conditions that could play into this battle include:

  • Snow will boost Articuno's Ice type attacks and your Steel type counters.
  • Wind will boost Articuno's Flying type attack.
  • Partially Cloudy weather will boost Articuno's Ancient Power, as well as your Rock type counters.

Apple TV+ free trial and monthly credits extended through June

We all have another five months of Apple TV+ for free.

What you need to know

  • Apple has extended its free trial or monthly credits of Apple TV+ for subscribers through June.

Apple has been emailing subscribers to Apple TV+ alerting them that the company is extending its free trial through June 2021. The company has been informing customers since last week, letting them know that they will continue to either receive the service for free (if they are already on a free trial) or get a monthly credit for $4.99.

We're giving you extra time to keep enjoying Apple Original shows and movies. You don't have to do anything — just keep watching for free until July.

The company is enticing subscribers to stick around with new content coming to the service like Justin Timberlake's Palmer, the Bille Eilish documentary Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry, — and The Snoopy Show.

With The Morning Show's Emmy win and Ted Lasso hailed as 2020's best comedy, Apple TV+ has set a new bar for quality storytelling. Dive into new seasons of M. Night Shyamalan's Servant, Peabody-winning Dickinson, and more critically acclaimed series returning this year. Also, look out for premieres of Apple Original Films — including Palmer, a moving drama starring Justin Timberlake, and Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry — as well as new adventures in The Snoopy Show.

The email also mentions that Apple TV+ is now on more than just Apple devices, highlighting streaming devices like the Xbox, Playstation, and Roku.

And now you can watch Apple TV+ on even more screens — find the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, or download the app on select Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung, LG, VIZIO, Sony, PlayStation®, and Xbox devices. Learn more about how to watch Apple TV+.

It was also just reported that Apple has landed the coming-of-age film CODA for a record-breaking $25 million at the Sundance Film Festival.
