Apple Store app updated with lists and video audio descriptions

What you need to know

  • Apple has released an update for the Apple Store app.
  • The update enables users to save items to a list.
  • It also adds audio descriptions for videos.

The Apple Store app just got a little handier.

Apple has released an update to the Apple Store app that makes it even more helpful for consumers.

Version 5.14 of the Apple Store app, which is available to download or update to now, adds two handy features for those looking to get their holiday shopping down.

One of the new features added to the app is the ability to save items to a list. While you used to only be able to favorite items into one overall list, you'll now be able to create multiple lists for different needs.

The other feature adds audio descriptions to videos so you can hear all about the product details.

  • Save items you like as lists. Share a list with a Specialist in store, and get a recap of the conversation sent to the app to easily buy what you like when ready.

  • Enjoy videos with Audio Descriptions to hear all the product details.

The Apple Store app is really great for not only shopping online but in-store as well. One of the most underrated features of the app is the ability to check yourself out for certain items at your local Apple Store. With the app, you can scan the barcode, check out with Apple Pay, and walk out without ever needing to wait for someone to help. Of course, this is only available for certain items, but it's a great feature for when you need to grab something more basic.

The Apple Store app is available for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and iMessage. You can download it for free from the App Store.
