Everything announced at Pokémon Presents 2021

Everything new in the Pokémon world!

It's Pokémon's 25th anniversary today, and The Pokémon Company is celebrating the occasion with a new Pokémon Presents! Here's everything that has been announced.

New Pokémon Snap

An overview of New Pokémon Snap was shown, showcasing the new Lental region, new characters, and new Pokémon to photograph. In the overview tailer, you will ride in the Neo-1 through forests, jungles, deserts, and even under the sea to research Pokémon in their natural habitats. Use different treats and music to entice different Pokémon out of hiding, and make use of a new tool that makes Pokémon glow. Fill your Photodex with photos and share them with people around the world.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are getting the remake treatment for the Nintendo Switch, releasing worldwide in late 2021. The new remakes are being developed by ILCA, who developed Pokemon Home, under the direction of Junichi Masuda, the original director of Diamond and Pearl. Opting for a cute, chibi-like visual style, the new remakes faithfully recreate the original DS games.

Pokémon Legends Arceus

A brand new Pokémon game taking place in an older version of the Sinnoh region has been announced for the Nintendo Switch. Taking place years before the events of Diamond and Pearl, the Sinnoh region is only just being explored for the first time. You set off on an adventure to create the very first Pokédex after receiving one of three starter Pokémon: Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott.

Using the newly settled village as a base, players set off to explore to Sinnoh region freely, similar to the open world we saw in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. You can capture Pokémon with a toss of a Poké Ball, and engage in battles alongside your Pokémon. Pokémon Legends Arceus is a brand new direction for the Pokémon series and will release worldwide in early 2022.
