Expect a rare Apple Watch design refresh this time around.
Apple has a big few weeks coming with the arrival of new iPhones and Apple Watches just the tip of the iceberg. The latter is set to bring a rare Apple Watch design change, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has been reiterating previous thoughts on that subject.
According to Gurman's weekly Power On newsletter, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 refresh will bring with it "a bit of a redesign, with flatter displays and updated screen technology." That redesign will also see some new internals, with a faster processor at the top of the list of changes.
Apple's annual Apple Watch refreshes tend to bring with them faster processors, but a change to the external design is rare — beyond a new color here and there. The arrival of a flatter display is expected to also mean a change to the overall case design as well, with the somewhat bulbous chassis expected to get its own flattened look.
Apple has also been rumored to have a fetching green Apple Watch in its labs, something that could open up a whole new world for those who like to accessorize their watches with colorful bands and whatnot.
All being well we expect Apple to announce Apple Watch Series 7 within the next few weeks, instantly making it the best Apple Watch ever. While the bulk of the attention is understandably on iPhone 13, don't underestimate the attraction of a fresh new Apple Watch for potential wearable buyers.
