'Little Voice' is a little flop — show reportedly canceled after one season

What you need to know

  • Apple TV+ show Little Voice has reportedly been canned after a single season.
  • The show was produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros.

That would make it the first Apple TV+ show to be canned.

Apple TV+ show 'Little Voice' looks like it is the first to get its marching orders after it was reportedly canceled after a single season.

According to a Hollywood Reporter article, Apple T+ has decided that Little Voice doesn't warrant a second season, although that is yet to be confirmed by the streaming video provider.

Little Voice was produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. and was a "love letter to the diverse musicality of New York."

A love letter to the diverse musicality of New York, "Little Voice" explores the universal journey of finding your authentic voice in your early 20s. Sara Bareilles ("Waitress") will provide original music for this fresh, intensely romantic tale of the search to find your true voice … and then the courage to use it.

The first — and it appears, only — season of Little Voice is available to be streamed on Apple TV+ right now. The show was recently put up for an Imagen Award, but that doesn't look likely to be enough to save it.

Most other Apple TV+ shows have seen second and even third seasons signed up, often before the first was even aired. It isn't clear what saw Little Voice miss out on a return to our screens.
