Apple CEO Tim Cook says that Apple's M1 Mac lineup and Apple silicon already make up the majority of Mac sales, overtaking Intel in just five months. With Macs like the M1 MacBook Pro one of the best Macs available, it's not really a surprise.
Speaking at the Apple event, Tuesday, Cook stated:
"There has never been a more exciting time for the Mac, we recently announced that we were embarking on a two-year transition to Apple silicon, and we're off to an incredible start. The reception to the new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini with M1 has been off the charts. Wired called M1 "a Mac revolution". M1 delivers incredible performance, custom technologies and revolutionary power efficiency. With a giant leap in performance per watt, every Mac with M1 is transformed into a completely different class of product."
Cook then said that Apple's customers agree, with Mac continuing to lead the industry in consumer satisfaction, and more importantly, that Apple's M1 Mac lineup makes up for the majority of Mac sales. Cook also said Apple's Mac business had never been stronger, before announcing Apple's new M1 iMac. From the announcement:
