Music streaming service Spotify is set to increase its prices throughout Europe. Users should expect an increase of up to £2/€3 per month depending on the subscription they have.
Reported by Mashable, the price increase will begin on April 30 which means subscribers don't have all that much notice.

The price increases seem to differ depending on the plan. According to Android Police, for students, the price will go up from £4.99 to £5.99. For individuals, the price will (probably) also increase by £1, from £9.99 to £10.99. Finally, for Family plans, the price will increase by £2, from £14.99 to £16.99.
There is at least good news for those affected – Spotify says people will get a month at the current price before the new one kicks in. New users will presumably pay the new price from day one, however.
According to the email, the price for Premium Duo in the UK will go from £12.99 per month to £13.99 per month. However, the email says that existing Premium Duo subscribers will get one additional month at the current price, meaning that the new price will become effective on the June billing date. Furthermore, users who are currently on trial will get one month at current price once their trial ends, before the price increases to £13.99.
The move now means that Spotify is noticeably more costly than the competing Apple Music.
