What you need to know
- Apple's new MagSafe Battery Pack goes on sale tomorrow, but someone got theirs early.
- It turns out you can use the battery pack to wirelessly charge your AirPods, too.
No big surprises there, then.
Apple's MagSafe Battery Pack doesn't officially go on sale until tomorrow, but someone was able to get theirs early. They've been sharing pictures of the charger with the world and now they confirmed that yes, you can indeed use this thing to wirelessly charge AirPods.
As Steven Russell points out on Twitter, the $99 battery pack can indeed charge a pair of AirPods — in this case, AirPods Pro — just fine. I can't say that's a huge surprise, but it's good to get confirmation!
One more thing to add. I have been asked if it wirelessly charges AirPods. Answer appears to be yes. pic.twitter.com/2WCcKSOlbI

I'd imagine that the MagSafe Battery Pack will wirelessly charge anything that supports the Qi standard, but we might have to wait a day or two to get that confirmed. For now, Russell has been sharing more photos of the thing in action.
Another frequently asked question was asking what it looked like without the case. Can admit, the white on white combo is SHARP. (/mr) pic.twitter.com/FmgTJigoOn

I have to admit, this thing looks gorgeous attached to a white iPhone. That being said, I still think Apple should offer the battery pack in multiple colors — just to give us all a few more options!
Not so keen on the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack? There are tons of third-party MagSafe portable batteries to be had, too. All designed for iPhone 12 and, presumably, iPhone 13 as well.
