After the success that was Detective Pikachu, it seems that The Pokémon Company is looking to dip their toes into the realm of live-action television. A report by Variety claims that a new live-action series set in the world of Pokémon is coming to the streaming giant Netflix. According to Variety's sources, Joe Henderson will be involved with the live-action series, acting as a writer and executive producer. Joe Henderson is the executive producer and co-showrunner of the hit Netflix series "Lucifer", which at first glance seems like a strange combination. However, Lucifer has put out five seasons, with a sixth season to be released in the future.
It seems that video games and their universes are becoming more and more popular in the world of film media, with Monster Hunter receiving both a movie and an upcoming Netflix series. The Pokémon Company has also been streaming lots of episodes of the Pokémon animated series on their official Twitch channel, with a particular focus being placed on Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, presumably in anticipation of the Sinnoh remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which is set to release on the Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2021.
Let's go, Sinnoh!
