Upcoming Apple Original Films and Apple TV+ movie Ghosted has lost a big name — superstar Scarlett Johansson will no longer star opposite Chris Evans, according to a new report. No Time To Die star Ana de Armas is taking over the role.

The news comes via The Hollywood Reporter, with De Armas set to be dropped in as a direct replacement for Johansson although it isn't immediately clear why the change has been made.

Evans and Johansson, known for playing Captain America and Black Widow, respectively, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, had originally teamed up for Ghosted. The deal for the Apple film was the second Johansson signed after filing her lawsuit against Disney over alleged contract breaches with the Disney+ release of Black Widow.

While starring, Chris Evans will also produce alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Jules Daly, the report notes.

It's still very much early days for the whole project, but anything starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas will garner plenty of attention, even without the lure of Johansson. Ghosted is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, two of the names involved with Deadpool and Zombieland — both excellent movies in their own right. Apple will be hoping for a similar from what is set to be a "romantic action-adventure film."
