Apple orders new TV+ docuseries 'Omnivore' and it's all about food

Apple has announced the order of a new docuseries for Apple TV+ titled Omnivore that's all about food.

The company stated:

Apple TV+ today announced a series order for "Omnivore," a new one-hour docuseries from visionary filmmaker Cary Joji Fukunaga and globally acclaimed chef René Redzepi that will tell the story of humanity and the planet through eight defining ingredients.

The show will be narrated by Redzepi, founder of Noma in Copenhagen, which has won the award of World's Best Restuarant five times. The show will reportedly look at the world through the lens of food "and explores how food binds and defines us, powers politics, shapes our beliefs, explains our past, and forecasts our future":

"Omnivore" explores the beauty, complexity and interconnectivity of human culture and the natural world through the way we manipulate, celebrate and consume its best resources – the ones we eat. Each episode will take viewers on a journey around the world, exploring the ingredients that have built societies, shaped spirituality and forever altered the human story.

Fukunaga is already working with Apple on some other new Apple TV+ shows including Masters of the Air.

Apple continues to invest in its slate of original content for its emerging streaming platform with new titles being added all the time.

Apple TV+ shows recently scooped six Oscar nominations and the company says its show now have 202 wins and 929 award nominations in the time since its launch. Apple TV+ is available on all of Apple's best iPhones, iPads, Macs, and the Best TVs for Apple TV 2022.
