Capcom has announced on their blog that a new Ace Attorney game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam on July 27, 2021. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles will feature the debut of two previously Japan-only games, The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve on Western storefronts.
These games feature one of Phoenix Wright's forefathers, Ryunosuke Naruhodo, as he begins his journey as a lawyer in Japan before traveling the world. The game features ten witty adventures which take place around 100 years before the events of the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
Ryonusuke will go through his career as an attorney alongside a unique cast of characters, with his own mentor and legal aide-in-training. He even receives assistance for his cases from other detectives, such as the world-famous... Herlock Sholmes. No, that was not a typo.
Just like the other Ace Attorney games, players will have to search crime scenes, gather evidence and use their deductive reasoning to pick the lies out of the testimonies given by dodgy witnesses. Of course, it wouldn't be a real Ace Attorney game if you couldn't scream, "OBJECTION!" upon finding a hole in a witness's story.
Capcom's reputation as a game developer is excellent, with their most recent addition to the Switch library, Monster Hunter Rise being regarded as one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch. Will you be picking this game up? Let us know in the comments!
